|
The Association is
pleased to inform that
Mr Chan Mun Yew, one of our dedicated
volunteer whose good volunteer spiritedness was also featured on
the 17 April 2003 issue of Streats,
was awarded the "Rotary Club of Singapore
Good Samaritans Award 2003" by the Rotary Club of
Singapore at their luncheon meeting on 28 May 2003.
The Good Samaritans Award is an award from the Rotary Club of
Singapore to recognise and encourage public spiritedness.
Mun Yew has been giving consistent support & assistance to our
Association for the past 15 years since 1988 and he has also
brought much joy not only to our members, our fellow volunteers,
our management committee & our staff during his course of
volunteering with us. We felt that our nomination of him for this
award is a small way of showing our appreciation to our dedicated
volunteers.
Keep Up Your Good Community-Spiritness, Mun Yew !!

The act of giving has given much joy to our members as well as to the volunteers
themselves. There's no special qualifications to become our volunteers,
as long as you have the compassion to help people with disabilities. So,
if you are enthusiastic to uplift the lives of the physically disabled,
here's a few areas where you can help :
| Food Ration |
| This programme is organized on a bi-monthly basis to distribute food items to needy members. |
HWA would like to invite sponsors, donors or
organizations who share the same passion to contribute such supplies
to help member's household that have income of less than $200 per
head per month. Please refer to the
proposal link to have a better understanding of the situation.
