Rehab & Training Centre @ Jurong has started operating from 19 January 2009. This centre caters to the needs of people with physical disabilities. It also caters to the rehab and training needs of children with various physical and sensory impairments. Programmes:- Comprehensive Physical Rehabilitation Service for Adults and Children - Physiotherapy - Occupational Therapy - Training on activities of Daily Living - Training on Community Mobility - Caregivers Training - IT and Skills Training - Job and Internship placement - Consultation on Accessibility Programmes aim to rehabilitate people with physical disabilities by involving the participation of the disabled individuals in various essential activities so as to inculcate a sense of independence in them. Objectives:1. To provide our clients with best quality programmes and services 2. To make a positive change in their attitude towards disability 3. To enhance the quality of life of the people with disabilities Rehab Operating Hours:Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm Note: IT and skills training activities are being held during office hours and in the evenings. HOW CAN YOU HELP?The Handicaps Welfare Association is a non-profit charitable organisation that serves people with physical disabilities. It is a member of the National Council of Social Service but is not funded by the Community Chest. It has been raising funds on its own to finance the various programmes and activities for the benefit of its members. The followings are the major funding-raising projects organised yearly by the Association: Wheel, Walk or Jog (WWJ)
 A unique event where HWA's members, volunteers, staff and members of the public will wheel, walk or jog along a designated route to raise funds for the Association. People with disabilities usually participate using wheelchair. The non-disabled participants can assist to wheel the disabled persons too. Funds are raised through pledge cards, sponsor-a-wheel-ride and direct donations from corporations and well-wishers. Lookout for our upcoming WWJ event. Flag Day
 Flag Day is another of our major fund-raising project. The Association requires help from members, volunteers, staff and students to sell flags on that day. To facilitate the deployment of flag sellers, several sub-stations are set up in popular locations island-wide. This year, our Flag Day is on 2 October 2010. Other Avenues where You can help
HWA has been fortunate to have received donations in cash and in kind from various corporations, well-wishers, institutions of higher learning and schools throughout the years. Corporations and organisations have also helped us raise funds through various innovative ways in order to help us achieve our target. Schools and other institutions have also mobilised their students/undergraduates and teachers to help us raise funds. Our Association welcomes all donations, regardless of any amount, in cash or in kind.
