MAKE THEIR EVERYDAY A LITTLE EASIER

My name is V Saronanire, and I am 62 years old. Each day brings challenges, but with care and support, I continue to find hope.

I live with diabetes and several other chronic conditions. Poor circulation led to the amputation of my left leg and a finger, while my remaining fingers are also affected. I struggle to care for two chronic wounds and check my blood glucose. Pain makes travelling to medical appointments and using a standard washroom difficult.

HWA brings essential care to my doorstep. A Home Nurse visits three times a week to clean and dress my wounds, while a Home Doctor assesses my health every three to four months. My medications and wound dressings are delivered following these visits. Without this support, I do not know how I would cope.

How You Help

Every Donation Makes a Real Difference

  • $10 covers transport or personal care
    Help financially needy individual in their two-way transportation costs to visit hospitals for Medical Consultation and collection of medication. Or help him/her to receive Personal Care Services.
  • $50 funds rehabilitation or home consultation
    Assist financially needy individual to receive 5-6 sessions of Rehabilitation sessions or 2 doctor’s consultation sessions at home.
  • $100 provides a week of home care support
    Assist financially needy individual to receive 7-8 nursing services at home.
  • $200 sends a student with disabilities to school
    To fund the transport services for student with disabilities, for 1 month, so he/she can go to school (based on the family’s financial means testing).
